Single Ply Roofing Membranes are waterproofing sheets produced from a variety of alternative synthetic materials compounded with additives such as UV stabilisers, pigments, fire retardant and fillers to produce a polymeric material that is generally defined as either a Thermoplastic or Elastomeric. The compounded polymeric material is then manufactured into a single layer roofing sheet using production methods such as spread coating, calendering or extrusion coating, each method providing the finished materials with different physical properties.

The physical properties of the finished material can be further augmented by producing a membrane that is either homogeneous, polyester fabric reinforced or glass fibre mat reinforced.

In addition to providing a wide variety of material choice there is also a choice of installation method available to suit the type of building, the required aesthetics and intended use.

Single ply membranes may be installed fully adhered, mechanically fastened, loose laid and ballasted or as ‘green’ roofs.
